This year’s conference will be held at International House on the University of Chicago campus on Saturday, March 2, 2013.
The Department of Sociology at the University of Chicago is proud to host the 15th Annual Chicago Ethnography Conference. This is an annual graduate student conference hosted by one of several Chicago-area sociology departments, including DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Loyola University, Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, University of Notre Dame, the University of Chicago, and University of Illinois at Chicago, with additional support this year coming from the University of Chicago Graduate Council. It provides a venue through which graduate students can share their ethnographic scholarship with one another and get feedback from faculty based in the Chicago area.
2013 Conference Theme: Culture and Subcultures
Conference Speakers: Dr. David Grazian (University of Pennsylvania) and Dr. Jeffrey Kidder (Northern Illinois University)
The conference is free and open to the public. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for those who register.
